Sanford Luverne's Rita VonHoltum Receives Employee of the Year Award

Rita VonHoltumSanford Luverne employee Rita VonHoltum was presented with the Sanford Health Eide Bailly Business Employee of the Year Award on July 13 at Sanford Luverne. She was also honored at a special Sanford Health event on July 27.

Eide Bailly, formerly known as Henry Scholten & Company, a public accounting firm with a long-time relationship with Sanford Health, established a fund in 1988 to provide an annual Business Employee of the Year Award.

This award is presented annually to business employees who help Sanford Health become a better organization, help create a flawless experience for patients and/or employees, are positive ambassadors to coworkers, physicians, patients, vendors, or the community they live in, and demonstrate the following Sanford Health values:

Rita is the lead coder in Sanford Luverne’s Health Information Management Department, where she has been employed for 21 years. She actually has 33 years of job experience. A coder reviews physicians’ documentation of medical services provided to patients for completeness and accuracy, and assigns appropriate ICD-9 and CPT codes to ensure the facility receives correct reimbursement from Medicare and health insurance companies.

“Rita demonstrates a strong commitment to our organization and is very dedicated to her Sanford Luverne family,” said Sanford Luverne CEO Tammy Loosbrock. “She continually looks for ways to make sure our processes are flawless, sensible, and in compliance with payer, state and federal regulations.”

Loosbrock continued, “Rita has an awesome sense of humor that helps keep things in perspective. She works well with other departments and is a valued coding resource who furthers her skills with regular training and education. Rita admires her coworkers and willingly gives of herself to help others.”
