The Cottage - A Residential Hospice

The Cottage, located at 217 N. Oakley Street in Luverne, is a four bedroom hospice residence licensed by the State of Minnesota and offers a welcoming home like setting within the community exclusively for terminally ill persons who need 24-hour care. The Cottage allows for a high level of involvement between family members and their loved one.

Beautifully constructed, The Cottage has an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling in the living room, kitchen, and dining room areas.

Each of the four private bedrooms are decorated with a handmade wall quilt and furnished with a hospital bed, dresser, telephone, television, recliner, rocker, and each resident has their own half bath.

A central shower / whirlpool room is also available. Two family rooms are available for family members to use to accommodate overnight stays as needed. The rooms have a queen-sized sofa sleeper, table and chairs, television and VCR, as well as a full bathroom with shower. Family members also have kitchen privileges.

The Cottage is open to persons who meet the hospice admission criteria. Room and board costs of The Cottage are the responsibility of the patient/family. For further information regarding admission criteria, room and board costs, and availability, please call the hospice office at (507) 283-1805.
